Dr. Juan Carlos Góngora Arango is a distinguished graduate of the CES University, where he also specialized in General Surgery. He further enhanced his expertise with a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery in Strasbourg, France, at the world-renowned European Institute of Telesurgery (IRCAD – EITS) and Louis Pasteur University. He was the first Colombian surgeon to earn this distinction in Europe. As part of the team that performed the Lindbergh Surgery—the first transatlantic robotic surgery in history—Dr. Góngora is a pioneer of bariatric and laparoscopic surgery in Latin America. Over the past 22 years, he has focused on advanced laparoscopic surgery, particularly bariatric surgery, with experience treating over 22,000 patients.
